Getting Uncomfortable
And Not Deleting Episode 1
Long ago, in a galaxy not so far away, there were authors who dreamed of starting a podcast. Two of them were Scott Moon and Josh Hayes. They did a pretty good job of it and built a community. One of them knew how to talk to the camera. The other could barely stand the sound of his own voice.
Years passed, and the podcast was set aside, as many things in life are.
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. That’s what they say, right?
For the last several weeks, I’ve felt the draw of the YouTube / Podcast world. Writing is a lonely business, and I thought I would bang out a few “author updates,” work out the trouble spots in my tech setup, and invite authors to join me in a lively discussion of fiction. A lot is happening in the publishing world.
It also seems like a great time to prove you are a real person. What better way could there be than hanging out with friends, cracking jokes, and just generally having a good time?
This plan is just crazy enough to work.
My first author update was like pulling teeth. I forgot what I was going to say, and botched what I did remember.
Practice will help.
I hope.
